Compound Microscopes

The T490-DK adds darkfield illumination to our hardest-working microscope. A top choice for veterinarians, breeders, and clinics, this instrument has proven reliability and optical quality. It boasts features such as a compensation-free Siedentopf head, smooth stage translation, and a precision focus system with easy tension-adjustment and vertical-lock. The simul-focal trinocular head provides a dedicated photo port which can be used simultaneously with both eyepieces. With brightfield and darkfield illumination, this model is ideal for bloodwork, fluid-analysis, and pathology.
To customize the microscope to your viewing comfort, the eyepiece spacing can be easily adjusted using a precision Siedentopf mechanism. A diopter is available on the both ocular tubes to compensate for asymmetry, and the ocular tubes are angled at 30° to comfortably accommodate a seated position without neck strain. The 23mm photo port is height-adjustable to match focus with the eyepieces, and can be replaced with an optional CX series C-mount port which have built-in reduction, and can directly interface with C-mount cameras.
The objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels to easily focus in on minute details from 40X to 1000X. Additional 20X eyepieces expand the maximum magnification to 2000X with 8 unique levels. This covers magnifications needed for studying hair follicles, cells, and bacteria. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy.
The 2-layer mechanical stage provides smooth and precise movement for examination of specimen slides. The stage's low-position controls are conveniently placed near the coaxial focus knobs for a streamlined workflow. Examining specimen slides is intuitive and precise for users at any skill level. The Abbe light condenser has a high 1.25 numerical aperture for oil-immersion, and an iris diaphragm to optimize contrast and depth-of-field. The condenser holder uses rack-and-pinion movement for precise height adjustment.
A dry darkfield condenser is included for darkfield observation using the 40X objective lens or lower. Darkfield observation will provide contrast in otherwise indistinguishable objects by highlighting changes in refractive index. This is particularly useful for observing live cells including blood analysis. With a 0.9 numerical aperture, the condenser works with non-immersion lenses. Two centering screws allow you to properly center the condenser for optimal contrast.

The M837L series compound microscope is a class leader offering professional features at an affordable price. This darkfield version provides an additional observation method to enhance contrast when viewing certain low-contrast specimens including unstained live cells. Along with the microscope's standard condenser used for brightfield observation, a specialized darkfield condenser is included.
Viewing Head
The trinocular viewing head has a comfortable 45° incline for viewing while seated or standing, and can be swiveled 360°. Ocular spacing can be easily customized using sliding interpupillary adjustment. Dual diopters allow both eyepieces to be focused independently. The trinocular photo-port adds a dedicated mounting tube for cameras. The 23mm tube is height-adjustable to fine-tune the focus to match the eyepieces. Its simul-focal design allows simultaneous use with both eyepieces so no switching is necessary.
Optics
The microscope is equipped with four objective lenses mounted on a rotating turret to quickly move through the various magnifications. The lenses use DIN international standards, and are achromatically corrected to improve clarity and color accuracy. They provide a magnification range from 10X to 1000X when used with the standard 10X eyepieces, ideal for viewing a wide range of specimens including cellular structures and bacteria. Additional 25X eyepieces are included to expand the maximum magnification to 2500X with 6 unique levels.

Specimen Stage
The 2-layer mechanical stage provides smooth and precise movement for examination of specimen slides. The stage's low-position controls are conveniently placed near the coaxial focus knobs for a streamlined workflow. Examining specimen slides is intuitive and precise for users at any skill level. A convenient lever grouped with the left-side focus knobs can be used to lock and unlock the coarse focus adjustment to prevent damage to the lenses and specimen.
LED Illumination
The LED sub-stage lighting provides cool, energy-efficient illumination. The light-source is daylight balanced to produce natural colors. The Abbe light condenser has a high 1.25 numerical aperture for oil-immersion, and an iris diaphragm to optimize contrast and depth-of-field. The condenser holder uses rack-and-pinion height adjustment for precision control.
A sub-stage mirror is included as an alternate light source when electricity is not available. The mirror can be mounted on top of the illuminator’s field lens to direct ambient light into the condenser.
Darkfield
This model includes a darkfield condenser which can be used in place of the standard Abbe condenser to improve contrast and highlight certain details in low-contrast specimens. While certain specimens may be difficult to observe using brightfield illumination, darkfield exploits variances in specimen consistency by highlighting changes in refractive index. By avoiding a staining process, some live cells and microorganisms can be observed in their natural states. The condenser is compatible with oil-immersion to work with higher magnifications.

This professional darkfield and brightfield trinocular microscope boasts four unique features no other microscope dealer can claim! It features 1) a crystal clear optical system, 2) simultaneous viewing through the photo port and eyepieces, and 3) an adjustable simul-focal trinocular port. The T580A's adjustable trinocular port creates a simul-focal optical system by allowing the imaging system attached to the photo port and the image in the eyepieces to be in focus at the same time. Traditional microscopes on the market allow you to see through either the trinocular port or eyepieces, forcing you to switch between the port and eyepieces. Because their trinocular port is not designed to be simul-focal with the microscope optical system, you have to conduct re-focusing after each "switch". The T580A, however, has simultaneous viewing and simul-focal trinocular port so that these "switch" and "re-focusing" are no longer necessary. Especially handy for teaching demonstrations, clinical examinations, and laboratory applications, these features allow your students or colleagues to view crystal clear images simultaneously while you work through the eyepieces. In addition, the T580A's industry-standard 23mm photo port can be converted into a C-Mount port by putting on the C-mount adapter, part CPC, sold separately, allowing you to attach a microscope digital camera or a video system on the market. This microscope comes with high point plan eyepieces, high contrast objectives, 30 degree inclined 360-degree swiveling trinocular head, a 3D mechanical stage, intensity-variable halogen illumination, and two (darkfield and brightfield) condensers. It offers eight magnifications: 40X-80X-100X-200X-400X-800X-1000X-2000X. Its trinocular port enables to add photo or video capability. This microscope is versatile and is ready for various accessories and attachments for advanced features.

To customize the microscope to your viewing comfort, the eyepiece spacing can be easily adjusted using a precision Siedentopf mechanism. A diopter is available on the left ocular tube to compensate for asymmetry, and the ocular tubes are angled at 30° to comfortably accommodate a seated position without neck strain. Various eyepieces can be used to increase the overall optical magnification. The trinocular photo-port adds a dedicated mounting tube for cameras. The 23mm tube is height-adjustable to fine-tune the focus to match the eyepieces.
The objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels to easily focus in on minute details from 40X to 1000X. Additional 25X eyepieces expand the maximum magnification to 2500X with 6 unique levels.
The LED sub-stage lighting provides cool, energy-efficient illumination. The light-source is daylight balanced to produce natural colors for imaging. With our specially developed fly-eye lens, the light is evenly distributed at maximum brightness to improve contrast and resolution. Illumination is further enhanced by a centerable Abbe condenser, which can be realigned for any magnification to guarantee proper lighting.
Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 1MP digital eyepiece camera. The compact, lightweight camera can be used in place of an eyepiece to watch live images, and to record photos or videos on your computer. This ability to view microscopic images on your computer reduces eye-strain, and allows groups of people to view images at the same time. Our professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, image stitching, and a full complement of measuring tools. A lite version of our software is available for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
